After a 21 mile steam out It never ceases to amaze me how Dave manages to put us on the fishing hot spot every time. Within minutes of setting the anchor lines were down and the entertainment began. It started off with the small eels but soon enough the big boys came out to play. The biggest came in at 63lb. Then we shifted venu and the ling came out to play. The Hunting Lodge Sea Anglers would like to thank Dave once again for a stunning day. Needless to say that we have booked up for our next trip.

We as a family of three: 2 adults and one child (13.5 years) had a wonderful trip with Dave last week.
The first time we went on shark fishing
Our son ,Yoav, the angךer in our family, came with a lot of expectations and we are glad to say they were more than fuflfilled. 8 sharks were caught - the biggest 80lbs.
My son came with his own rod. Dave made sure it was right for the adventure and let Yoav use it along with his rods. He was nice and kind, making his best, giving a hand whenever needed and giving a good advice when required.
we enjoyed it very much and recommend to use Dave to fishing excursions. f a n t a s t i c

My friend and I booked two days fishing out with Dave on the Bessie. The first day out, we went drifting for sharks, which was really successful with 3 really nice blues. My friend Paul had 2 good blues and I managed one of about 50lb. The sea was a little chompy. Dave was his usual self, keeping us both supplied with hot drinks.
Day 2
We pushed off out for about 20 odd miles to a wreck, then Dave put the pin down and we started to fish for ling and conger. The sea was a lot calmer and after a short while our rods were soon bending over at regular intervals. Paul had his best ling of 22lb, but he was kept really busy landing some really good blues on the shark rod. Then a nice pod of dolphins turned up and put on a good show for us. We both carried on catching at a good rate until we decided to pack up and head for home. Thanks Dave for two really good days, it's always good to fish with you, and thanks to Paul for supplying me with a chair to sit on or I may not have lasted two days.
P.S sorry Dave about your camera and we hope to see you again later in the year.
Basher.

I have been out with Dave twice this holiday. Both trips were great - Dave really works hard for his customers, making sure everyone is catching fish. I managed to catch a 20lb Ling along with Pollack,Whiting, the odd mackerel and some nice sized conger. I cannot recommend a trip out with Dave enough - he is also not a bad tea boy. If you want to catch some decent fish give Dave a call - you will not be disappointed.

Just done six days with Dave - good weather and fishing, even the mackerel played ball some days. Had a good week of mixed fishing - congers, ling, pollack. Dave is the best skipper and the hardest worker I have been to sea with in thirty years of boat fishing. Roll on next trip in three weeks time - I am going to try to not get so much stick off dave!

Just had a fantastic day out on the Bessie Vee with skipper Dave and a mixed bunch! The fishing was great, the company good and the skipper ensured that all had a good time. The trip included the sight of half the British navy in the form of a nuclear sub accompanied by a frigate and to top it off a pod of dolphins! Can't think of a better way to spend a sunny day in Cornwall.

May 31 2017 My lad and I went out with for a 4 hour trip. What a brilliant time we both had, lots of whiting and my 13 year old landed 2 conger eels, one estimated 40lb the other circa 30 lb. Extremely helpful skipper and a well equipped boat. Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you

Sunday 23rd April - Had a brilliant day out of Mevagissey on Bessie Vee today. 2 of the Locker lads had driven through the night from Whitby in North Yorkshire so the stakes were high. The conditions were perfect, just a little breeze and stunning sunshine. Skipper Dave was friendly and good company from the moment we stepped aboard. 45 min steam to first wreck. First drop "BAM" 8lbish ling. Well that was a good start. We had fish steadily after that until the very last drop. Dave worked hard to keep us on the best fishing areas, repositioning as the tide and wind turned throughout the day. Best ling aboard was just over 20lb with several others in the doubles, towards the last 2 hours of the day we had a crazy 30 minutes where I had a 42lb eel immediately followed 10 mins later by a 56lber. Meanwhile at the same time another guy aboard landing a 45lber. Between the three Locker lads we had 20+ good fish over the day. We will definitely be back and highly recommended the vessel to anyone wanting to get afloat.

Frid 4th Nov - my friend and I booked a trip out with Dave on the Bessie Vee. We met up at 8am at the harbour, loaded our gear onto the boat. Then we made our way out to the wreck which took about one and a half hours. Once the anchor went down,we were soon catching some nice congers and ling for about a couple of hours. Then the weather turned against us sooner than expected, giving the skipper no choice but to up anchor and take us in closer for shelter - me thinking our fishing was done for the day. How wrong I was - we were soon into some nice congers, which never seemed to stop coming, with Paul taking fish at 30+40 and 50lb. My catch of the day was a fishing rod and reel that was expertly brought up from the sea bed, which had been there for some time. The day was brought to an end with the skipper catching the fish of the day a conger of 60lb. Dave thankyou very much for a really good day and all the good trips I have had with you this year. I will recommend you to anyone. Thanks Bernard

Having never fished at a sea for some 30 years, being treated to a day on Bessie Vee by my son-in-law was initially approached with a certain amount trepidation. It needn't have, Dave operated with a relaxed confident manner and provided support and advice that ensured a very enjoyable day's fishing. If I'd been told at the beginning of the day that I'd land a hatful of fish, including a 28lb Ling, I'd have never believed it.

Thanks for a most enjoyable fishing experience Dave, and of course my son-in-law for arranging it.

We had a great trip on the Bessie Vee with Dave yesterday. As a couple of sea fishing novices, I caught 7 Conger the biggest 2 being mid 30's and my father in law caught a couple of Ling the biggest being 27lb, a few conger and also a Pouting. Dave was really patient with us throughout and ensured we had a good trip. I will be out again next time I am in this neck of the woods. Thanks for an enjoyable day.

Second time of fishing on the Bessie Vee with Dave. Great skipper never disappoints. We caught loads of fish, whiting, pouting, mackerel, scad, dogfish, coalie, conga and a porbeagle shark. We all loved it thanks very much for a great half day out. Definitely be booking another trip!!! We were really grateful to him for still taking us out after some people failed to turn up without giving him the courtesy of a telephone call. Great job Dave thanks again :-) From Julie, Colin, Nicola & Chris.
